Out of School Activities
All our schools offer their own after school activity clubs for their pupils/students – some free and others with a charge - and provide information for their parents and young people on these through newsletters, noticeboards and their own websites.
As a partnership, along with the schools in the Isis Partnership, East Oxford, we have now established a tradition of taking part in Cowley Road Carnival, following work with local community visual and dance artists in after school Carnival clubs. In 2009, 2010 and 2011, it has been Carnival in the Park, which we love and where all the children conclude the procession by performing on the stage.
In 2010, Cheney School also took part in the Magnificent Machines parade on the Cowley Road, with some amazing inventions!
Headington has a huge range of community based young people’s activities and groups meeting in the churches, children’s, youth and community centres, sports and social clubs. |
Headington Action is a voluntary organization with charitable status whose sole aim is to benefit the community of Headington.
